This solemn and emotional event aims to honor and remember the contributions of heroes and figures hailing from South Sumatra (Sumbagsel). The presence of the hero's families adds a profound sense of reverence for those who have tirelessly fought for the nation's independence and progress.
During this pilgrimage, the Central Management of TP Sriwijaya, the Sumbagsel community, as well as the families of heroes and prominent figures from Sumbagsel, embarked on a journey to TMPN Kalibata with hearts filled with joy and sorrow. They brought fresh flowers and laid floral wreaths on the graves of the heroes, commemorating their struggles in the fight for independence and the building of their beloved nation.
Throughout the pilgrimage, a solemn and serene atmosphere enveloped TMPN Kalibata. Prayers and expressions of gratitude for the heroes who sacrificed their lives for Indonesia could be heard. The TP Sriwijaya management and the Sumbagsel community also seized this moment as an opportunity to introduce the history and significant role of Sumbagsel in the struggle for independence to the attending younger generation.
"Sumbagsel has made extraordinary contributions to the nation's historical journey. Through this pilgrimage, we aim to commemorate the valor of Sumbagsel heroes and inspire the younger generation to uphold and fight for the noble values championed by our heroes," said one of the TP Sriwijaya management officials.
This event not only serves as a moment to remember the heroes but also as a gathering for fostering camaraderie and strengthening unity between the TP Sriwijaya management and the Sumbagsel community.
The 55th anniversary commemoration of TP Sriwijaya at TMPN Kalibata is expected to be a significant momentum to revive the spirit of patriotism and the appreciation for national history, particularly the role of Sumbagsel in the struggle for independence.
