PersatuanindoNEWS.com - In order to combat drug abuse, the Semeru 2023 Operation in the jurisdiction of the Kediri City Police Resort is being actively conducted by the Narcotics Detective Unit of the Kediri City Police Resort to identify drug offenders within their jurisdiction. In addition to targeting hotels and nightlife establishments in Kediri City, officers are also conducting raids at boarding houses in Kediri City that may be potentially exploited by drug offenders, users, and couriers to carry out their activities.
The Head of Operations of the Kediri City Police Resort, Commissioner Abraham Sisik, explained that the movement of drug abusers is not limited to specific locations. Besides hotels and nightlife establishments, it is suspected that boarding houses can also be utilized by offenders for drug transactions and usage, similar to what is happening in other areas.
"In Kediri City, there are numerous affordable boarding houses. This can be exploited by drug offenders for their transactions. That's why last night, I instructed my team to conduct raids at boarding houses in the Mojoroto district, the City district, and the Pesantren district," stated the Chief of Operations.
Although the drug operations conducted at boarding houses have not yielded results so far, these activities will continue throughout the operation to prevent and apprehend drug offenders, ensuring that the jurisdiction of the Kediri City Police Resort is truly free from drug abuse.
