This was announced by the South Tangerang Police Chief, AKBP Faisal Febrianto, S.I.K., M.Si., during a press conference at the South Tangerang Police Resort lobby on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. The press conference was attended by the South Tangerang Regional Leadership Communication Forum.
"This afternoon, together with the Forkopimda, we are releasing the results of the Drug Unit's operation, where as a result of a joint investigation with the customs office, the drug unit has successfully seized evidence of methamphetamine, ecstasy, marijuana, and synthetic tobacco," explained AKBP Faisal during the press conference.
"We, from the South Tangerang Police Resort, are highly committed to preventing the illicit drug trade, and this arrest is evidence that there is still an illicit drug trade in South Tangerang," he continued.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of South Tangerang appreciated the performance of the South Tangerang Police Resort and urged the public to inform the police if there is any drug-related crime.
"On behalf of the South Tangerang city government, we appreciate the performance of the police resort in successfully uncovering drugs, and with this revelation, thousands of South Tangerang residents have been saved. I urge the people of South Tangerang to immediately inform the nearest police officer, such as the community police officer, if they have any information related to drugs, in order to expedite the crackdown on drug crimes. I hope that South Tangerang will be free from drug crimes," explained Benyamin Davnie.
The Head of the South Tangerang Police Narcotics Unit, AKP Resto Jordanus, explained to the media that the case began when the Narcotics Unit 1 arrested 1.6 kilograms of methamphetamine in a hotel in South Tangerang. The investigation was then developed in collaboration with other stakeholders, leading to the discovery of networks in Bengkalis, Malaysia, and Belgium.

The evidence seized in the operation consisted of 25,383 grams of methamphetamine, 4,040 ecstasy pills, 3,751 grams of marijuana, and 2,061 grams of synthetic tobacco.
Present at the press conference were the South Tangerang Police Chief, AKBP Faisal Febrianto, S.I.K., M.Si., the Mayor of South Tangerang, Drs. H. Benyamin Davnie, the Chairman of the South Tangerang Regional People's Representative Council, H. Abdul Rasyid, S.Ag., M.AP., the Head of the Narcotics Unit, AKP Retno Jordanus, S.I.K., representatives from the Customs Office, the South Tangerang City Prosecutor's Office, and the South Tangerang National Narcotics Agency.
