Minister of Tourism Visits KAWS, Holiday Indonesia Exhibition at Prambanan Temple, Combining Contemporary Art and Cultural Heritage
PersatuanindoNEWS.com - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, visited the "KAWS: Holiday Indonesia" exhibition, which featured a 45-meter-long and 15-meter-high KAWS statue against the backdrop of Prambanan Temple.

During his visit to the "KAWS: Holiday Indonesia" exhibition as part of his official trip to Yogyakarta on Tuesday (August 29, 2023), Menparekraf Sandiaga appreciated the selection of Prambanan Temple as one of the exhibition locations in the KAWS global series.

"This is the 10th location out of 10 countries visited by KAWS in his world tour. And it's super epic because the only KAWS is exhibited at a UNESCO World Heritage site," said Menparekraf Sandiaga.

Menparekraf believed that this would be an attraction for tourists, witnessing the combination of contemporary art with the beauty and grandeur of Prambanan Temple firsthand.

Especially when viewing the artwork in the evening, just before sunset. The radiance of the twilight will serve as a beautiful background alongside the grandeur of Prambanan Temple.

"I am confident that this will be a strong attraction and will pique the interest of visitors," said Sandiaga.

Menparekraf also believed that this exhibition would be an effective promotion for Prambanan Temple on the world stage.

Accompanying Menparekraf Sandiaga were the Director of Industry Management at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf, Syaifullah, as well as the CEO of the Borobudur Authority, Agustin Peranginangin.
